How to Use a Binder Chain
Jul 25,2022
A Binder Chain is a type of tie-down used for lifting materials. The chain is made from special alloy steel with an assembled grab hook. They are best suited for overhead lifting. However, if the load is too heavy to be lifted with a binder chain, it should be towed using a chain lift sling instead. Read the instructions on how to use the binders and chains carefully to avoid potential injury and damage.
Binder chains are commonly used in the transportation and cargo control industry. Even though many truck drivers have moved over to Tie Down Straps, chains are still the preferred choice for many professionals. The durability of Binder Chains makes them superior to tie-down straps. They are also more convenient to use. These binders help secure heavy loads to a trailer. They are also available in a wide range of sizes and styles.
Among the different types of binders, a Grade 80 Load Binder Chain is the most popular. This type of chain has a minimum breaking force of 60tonnes per 22mm. The ratchet style is generally safer than the lever style, as it does not store as much energy in the handle. In addition, it is marked with its manufacturer's identification number. This way, you can choose the best one for your specific application.
The lever chain binder is easier to use and install, but requires more strength. It can be a little more difficult to tighten, but the energy from the lever is stored in the handle. Cheater bars are also common, but are considered dangerous. The size and type of Binder Chain you use will depend on how much work you do on your chain. In addition, make sure that the chain you choose is high enough to accommodate the weight of your load.
The Ratchet Chain Binder is another type of Binder. Ratchet chain binders are typically used to haul items. To use one, you must unscrew both sides of the ratchet and then flip the switch in the center. The hooks in the Binder will attach to the chain links. The binder handle is used to tighten or loosen the chain. It also has a lock in the center for security.
Standard Binders are available with or without a ratchet mechanism. Ratchet binders are easier to use because they have less parts and require less strength. Ratchet Chain Binders, on the other hand, use a lever with a handle to tighten and loosen the chains. These binders are also easier to install than ratchet binders because they have fewer moving parts.
Ratchet Binders have two tension hooks at the end of their handle. The ratchet binders have a forged steel handle and are typically easier to handle than lever binders. Ratchet binders are generally more durable than lever binders, but they need greater strength to tighten them. As with all binders, they should not be used when the working load exceeds the working load.
